Care guide · Monthly routine

About three minutes a month.

Test, balance, sanitize, care. The 100 feet of filtration and the non-porous shell do the heavy lifting, so most months you barely touch it. Here's the whole routine, in order.

The routine · in order

Four moves. Most weeks you only do the first one.

Follow the same order every time: test, balance, sanitize, care. The biggest tub we build takes about three minutes a month of care. The 100 feet of filtration and the non-porous shell handle what you can't see.

01 · Test

Dip a strip

Dip a test strip and read the colour against the chart. Most weeks the water is already sitting right where it should be, nothing else to do.

02 · Balance

Nudge the pH

If a reading is off, add a little pH Up or pH Down to bring it back. Target range is 7.2 to 7.8. Most of the time you do nothing here.

03 · Sanitize

A tablespoon of chlorine

Add about a tablespoon of chlorine every one to two weeks. Add the optional Ecozone ozone upgrade and it knocks down bacteria between doses, which is why you barely smell chlorine.

04 · Care

Rinse & refresh

Rinse the filters with a hose now and then. Replace the water every 10 months to a year, on a change, just spray the sides with vinegar and water.

Water care shelf

Keep the essentials obvious.

In the same order as the routine: test, balance, sanitize, care. Standard basics you can grab anywhere, all standard chemistry.

01
TestStrips & drain triggers
Tester Strips

Quick pH, alkalinity, and sanitizer readings. Dip, wait, compare colours.

TDS Tester

Measures total dissolved solids, an easy cue for when it's time to refresh the water.

02
BalancepH & alkalinity correctors
pH Up

Raises pH when a reading drops below 7.2. Use sparingly.

pH Down

Lowers pH when a reading goes above 7.8. A few grams usually does it.

Alkalinity Plus

Raises total alkalinity to stabilize pH. Target: 80–120 ppm.

03
SanitizeA little chlorine, the odd shock
Chlorine Granules

About a tablespoon every one to two weeks. We run the same on our E6 and never smell it.

Non-Chlorine Shock

An occasional oxidizer to clear contaminants. Many owners shock when they sanitize.

04
CareFilters & surface fixes
Filters

Rinse now and then; replace once a year. Two of them, 100 feet of filtration in all.

Spa Flush

Run it before a water change to clear buildup from the plumbing lines.

Defoamer

Knocks down surface foam from soaps or lotions carried in on swimwear.
