Hot Tubs · Fort McMurray

Fort McMurray

Fort Mac hits -40°C with windchill. Oil sands workers need a tub that stays hot through 2-week camp rotations without cracking or costing a fortune to run. HDPE shell, R-40 cover, about $10 to $60 a month to run depending on the model. Ready when you get back from camp.

Built for the Oil Sands North

Most of our Fort McMurray buyers are FIFO workers — 14-on/7-off or 21-on/7-off rotations in the oil sands. The ask is always the same: they want a tub that's hot when they walk in the door from camp, stays on and holds temperature while they're away, and doesn't crack from the deep cold on a -40°C January night. That's exactly what this tub does.

The HDPE unibody shell is the same base material as oil sands process equipment — built for the same climate, the same thermal cycling, the same brutal winters. It doesn't crack, craze, or stress-fracture. This is the best-insulated tub we sell: an R-40 cover compressed by patented Power Clamps, an R-30 body wrap, and a 2" air-chambered bottom, holding 102°F through deep cold snaps without the heater running constantly. Running cost is $10 to $60 a month, all-in, depending on the model — low enough that leaving it on during a camp rotation costs less than what you'd spend on coffee.

Fort McMurray neighbourhoods rebuilt after the 2016 fire often have new decks specifically designed to handle a hot tub's filled weight (~3,500 lb for the E5/E6). We deliver across Wood Buffalo up Highway 63, coordinating timing with weather windows. Delivery is a paid service quoted with your tub, and once it's placed and filled it's about 36 hours to your first soak.

Common install scenarios

City installs go on existing back decks, concrete pads, or pavers in Timberlea, Thickwood, Eagle Ridge, and Stone Creek. Acreage installs around Saprae Creek and the Athabasca River corridor often use a gravel pad inside a windbreak. Most owners place the tub within 15 ft of an exterior wall for the easiest 110V outlet run, and many shift workers run a dedicated 220V circuit to the panel for faster heat-up after camp rotations.
